Honouring 29 Years of the Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment

On April 4th, the formation of the Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment (RNZALR) is celebrated across New Zealand. On this day in 1996, the directive was signed that brought together the Royal New Zealand Corps of Transport, the Royal New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps, and the Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers into one distinguished regiment. Today, we honour their long and dedicated service to the New Zealand Army (and the wider Defence Force), both before and after its formation.

At Cater Plus, we recognise the invaluable contributions of these logisticians in transport, catering, supply, maintenance, and more—roles essential to the success of military operations at home and abroad. Cater Plus founder, Paul Hodge, knows this commitment firsthand. His journey began at just 16 when he joined the Royal New Zealand Army and trained as a chef. Paul served for 21 years, embodying passion, precision, and respect for tradition—values that continue to shape Cater Plus today.

To mark this special occasion, we’ve provided Cater Plus Legacy Port for serving RNZALR soldiers. This rich, smooth port is inspired by Paul’s journey—one of craftsmanship, tradition, and dedication. This port pays tribute to the men and women who served alongside him.

So from all of us at Cater Plus to the Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment—past and present—Happy 29th Birthday! Enjoy a toast to His Majesty the King, the Regiment, and Absent Friends and Fallen Comrades.
