Weekend Cook / Café All Rounder

Saturday 6.00am – 12:30pm and Sunday 6.30am – 3:00pm

We have a weekend position available for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Cook to join our team based at the Woolworths Distribution Centre (Countdown) in Hornby, Christchurch. This is a sole charge position working the weekend shift to cover the Chef Manager’s days off.

In this position you will be carrying out food preparation, cooking and baking, serving customers, keeping the café clean, and closing and cashing up at the end of the day. You will need to have experience to prepare the full day’s menu and cabinet options - think tasty, wholesome meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts.

To be successful you will need:
• a passion for food and enjoy working with customers to keep them coming back for more
• previous experience in food preparation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
• experience in café and cafeteria style food services
• to be friendly and engaging, hard-working and flexible
• to be confident to work unsupervised and resolve any problems that arise
• to be able to operate Eftpos and POS machine with a smile, and cash-up at end of shift
• maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
• great communication skills and a can-do attitude.
