Chef Manager – Eltham/Taranaki area.

We have an exciting opportunity, to start immediately, for a passionate, adaptable, and flexible, experienced Chef Manager to help us deliver the best food experience in the industry across our café sites in the Eltham/Taranaki area.

About the Role:
40 hours per week, based on a 7-day roster – Monday to Sunday
Weekend and night shifts may be required.

This is a permanent position to cover Site Managers and Chefs when on leave and training days and promises variety and challenge. No two days are the same – whether it’s filling the cabinets, cooking good hearty meals or catering for a function, this role will keep you on your toes.

To be successful, you will need to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment whilst juggling multiple tasks at the same time. This means you love being a hands-on chef and leader, actively involved in the preparation, cooking and service of food, who enjoys pleasing our customers on a day-to-day basis.

To be successful in this position you will need a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in café settings along with experience managing a kitchen team.

You will need to be able to:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine, and have experience catering for functions
• Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Create and adapt menus to cater for varied dietary requirements
• Estimate food and labour costs and manage within budget
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
• Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
• Be flexible with short notice shift changes

Police vetting is a requirement for this role.

As travel to various sites across the region, including to New Plymouth, is a requirement for this position, you will need a car and drivers’ license (a fuel allowance is provided).
