Chef Manager- Ambury Café, Fonterra Takanini

The Role:
We have an opening for a Chef Manager at our busy café located at Ambury Café in the heart of Fonterra Takanini. Owned by Aotearoa Dairy Farmers, Fonterra is an industry leader here in New Zealand and throughout the world.

In this role you will be a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of food, as well as the day-to-day running of the cafe.
Think tasty, simple meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts. An understanding of what the customers crave will have you well on the road to success here.

Your regular hours will be Monday to Friday-5:30am till 2:00pm however the café is open till late, Monday to Sunday, you must have great organizational and communication skills to manage and oversee the cafe even after your shift has finished.
Lead your team of 5 to get the job done well, challenge them to improve, as well as work together, value and support each other. To top it off, you will need to be a whiz when it comes to admin, controlling food and labour costs, ordering and all things health and safety.

This position requires a chef Manager with relevant industry experience, who can:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine
• Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements
• Manage food and labour costs within budget
• Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
• Demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy
• Show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude
