Chef Manager – Aged Care Kitchen, Te Kuiti
40 hours per week over 7-day roster
Cater Plus is proud to be the food service provider for Hillview, a 52-bed aged residential care home based in Te Kuiti, and we are seeking an experienced chef to lead our food service and kitchen team.

Reporting to an Operations Manager, you will be an experienced leader actively involved in the cooking and service of all meals, the day-to-day running of the kitchen, and making our client and their residents’ smile! You will bring the best out in your team as you encourage and lead them to get the job done well, challenge them to improve, as well as work together, value and support each other. To succeed you will need excellent communication skills and pride yourself on producing a consistent and delicious meal, time and time again.
This position sets the scene, and therefore attitude and motivation are key to success along with the ability to:
- Prepare, cook, and serve wholesome food (including soft meals)
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Adapt menus to cater for varied dietary requirements
- Manage food and labour cost within budget
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
- Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.
- Ensure all staff are recruited, inducted, trained, and motivated to provide an outstanding service to our client and their residents
- Complete regular mandatory reporting to ensure responsible and effective management of food service
- Demonstrate moderate computer literacy.
- Show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude.
