Catering Assistant, Fonterra - Eltham

32.5 hours - Monday to Thursday (6am – 1.00pm)

We are on the hunt for a reliable individual for our café located on site at the Fonterra factory in Eltham. The café at this site is open 7 days per week from early until late and we are seeking candidates for this part time position. Flexibility to provide cover over weekends and evening shifts when required would be a significant advantage.

Offering good wholesome meals and cabinet food, you will be working alongside a Cook to provide the full café service. We are particularly seeking someone with some cooking and baking experience in order to assist the chef/cook, and step in to provide some cover when needed.

What you’ll do:
- support the chef with food preparation and baking
- serve café style food to customers
- operate EFTPOS and POS machine with a smile
- move and manage stock
- clean and do dishes

Who you are:
- self-motivated with a strong customer focus and a passion for food
- friendly and engaging, hard-working and flexible
- have experience in food preparation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- have experience in cafe and cafeteria style food service
- flexible and willing to work additional hours when required to provide cover
