Ashbury Heights Resthome – Multiple roles available - Whangarei

Cater Plus is the proud service provider for the new Ashbury Heights Resthome in Whangarei. We are committed to providing high quality meals that are produced fresh everyday. To make this happen, we need a motivated Site Manager, Cook and Catering Assistant who are passionate about food and excellent service.

To be successful in this role you need to be able to multitask, have a friendly disposition and show good communication skills in order to interact with care staff and residents not to mention reliability will rate as one of your key attributes. These positions are a pivotal part of our team and require experience in aged care or within the wider food service arena.

These roles are available from early January 2025.

You will be involved in all aspects of food preparation and service, along with a commitment to maintaining our food safety programme and maintaining a close relationship with our client.

The 3 roles available are:

Site Manager 40 hrs/week
Cook 40 hrs/week
Catering Assistant 30 hours /week


Reporting to the Northland Operations Manager, The Site Manager position will require a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
Working 40 hours (5 days) per week across 7 days.
Responsible for all aspects of running a kitchen and managing budget and staff costs, patient and staff menu design and implementation including special dietary requirements, managing Food Control Plan implementation to regulations, preparing and serving morning and afternoon teas, and lunches.

The Cook position will require a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
Working 40 hours (5 days) per week across 7 days.
Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the evening patient meal and other food preparation as required, maintaining Food Control Plan, assisting with menu design and implementation. May also be required to take orders from patients.

Catering Assistant:
Working 30 hours (5 days) per week across 7 days.
Responsible for assisting in a variety of kitchen duties from food preparation to washing dishes, assisting with meal deliveries to hospital wings.

Other conditions for all roles:
• Police vetting is a requirement for these roles.
